11 Pupils Involved in Dzorwulu–Accra Mall Collision

by Creative Network

A sombre mood has descended on the Dzorwulu–Accra Mall highway following a collision between a Benz Sprinter minibus carrying schoolchildren and a heavy-duty tipper truck.

The incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, 30 July. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed via a social media alert that its personnel were quickly mobilised to the accident site.

Initial reports indicate that the bus was ferrying roughly 11 pupils from a lower primary school when the crash took place.

While firefighters have secured the area and are carrying out preliminary assessments, the GNFS has remained tight-lipped on the specific number of casualties and the medical condition of the young passengers.

Emergency responders are currently on standby, and the priority remains the safety and evacuation of the children.

Authorities have yet to establish the circumstances that led to the tipper truck colliding with the school bus.

Investigations are in their early stages, and officials have promised to provide a detailed update once the situation at the scene has been fully stabilised.

Traffic is being diverted as clean-up and rescue efforts continue.
