Joan Laporta has been re-elected as president of FC Barcelona, securing a decisive victory in Sunday’s election. His ‘Defensem el Barça’ candidacy garnered 32,934 votes, representing 68.18% of the total vote.

This marks Laporta’s return to lead the Club for a fourth time, following two previous presidential terms from 2003 to 2010 and another term beginning in March 2021, when he won 30,184 votes (54.28%).

Five years after that election, the Laporta candidacy once again prevailed, this time by a larger margin, surpassing rival Víctor Font’s 14,385 votes (29.78%). There were 984 blank votes cast (2.04%).

Shortly after the result was announced, a jubilant Laporta declared: “This is a resounding result and it gives us great strength. It makes us unstoppable. No one will stop us. Exciting years lie ahead. They will be the best of our lives.

This is a wonderful club, where the members elect their president and their board of directors. A club unique in the world, truly extraordinary. I want to make special mention of the members who came out to vote. It has been a celebration of democracy and civic spirit. And I would also like to highlight the excellent work carried out by our executives and staff in organising the election day.

celebration after winning. The best years of our lives are ahead.” 💙❤️
