In the wake of the catastrophic floods that struck Accra and surrounding communities on June 29, Corporate Ghana and the international business community have rallied with an extraordinary show of solidarity, delivering millions of cedis in cash, essential medical supplies, food, and relief items to support affected families.
At a formal presentation ceremony at the Presidency, senior government officials including Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Legal Advisor to the President Marietta Brew, and Presidential Advisor Joyce Bawah Mogtari, received the donations on behalf of the state.
The government has pledged that all items will be swiftly distributed to the hardest-hit areas through coordinated efforts with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
CASH DONATIONS
- SoftCare FM Manufacturing Co. Ltd – GHS 200,000
- Ghana Institute of Surveyors – GHS 50,000
MAJOR CORPORATE AND ORGANIZATIONAL DONATIONS
- Ghana Association of Chinese Societies & Companies – Thousands of bags of rice, water, and gari; medical supplies including 2,000 malaria test kits and anti-malarial medications; 3,000 sleeping mats, appliances, water tanks, and school bags.
- MTN Ghana & Multimedia Group Campaign – 1,400 mattresses, 1,192 blankets, and nearly 1,000 packed relief boxes containing food, mosquito nets, and hygiene essentials.
- Sentuo Group Limited – 4,000 bags of rice (25kg), 600 bags of sugar, and 387 boxes of granular maize.
- Ecobank Ghana – Essential medications, 1,000 bags of water, 195 mattresses, blankets, and bales of clothing.
- B5 Plus Limited – Assorted food items, Cerelac baby food, 100 pairs of Wellington boots, raincoats, mosquito nets, and blankets.
- SoftCare FM Manufacturing – Sanitary pads, diapers, and KleenSoft soap and washing powder.
- Tobinco Group – 5,000 gallons of Omal liquid soap, 100 boxes of antiseptic, and 400 gallons of bleach.
- Eezzy Group – Over 1,000 bags of rice, canned beef, spaghetti, and baking supplies.
- Kam Trading & Farms Limited – 445 bags of rice (25kg).
