A pastor and his accomplice are behind bars for allegedly attempting to bury a five-month-old baby alive.

Apostle Dr. Richmond Akwasi Frimpong, head pastor of the Anointed Grace Prayer Ministry at Kuffour Camp, was arrested alongside his partner after a late-night encounter at a refuse dump in Abofrem, Atwima Mponua District.

It was around 11 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, when a resident named Winfred Agbah noticed the two men acting suspiciously.

As he moved closer, he made a horrifying discovery: the baby they intended to bury was still breathing.

“The child was not dead,” Agbah said. “They planned to bury him alive. Only God knows why.”

The alarm he raised brought the police to the scene. Both suspects were taken into custody in Bibiani.

Adding to the shock, the chief linguist of Abofrem, Nana Yaw Badu, revealed that the pastor had approached him earlier, claiming the baby had already died and asking for a place to bury the body.

“I had no idea the child was alive,” Badu said.

The baby has since been rushed to the Abofrem Clinic and is receiving medical attention. Police have launched a full investigation, and both suspects remain in detention.
