Two people have died following a three-vehicle collision at Dompoase near Komenda on Thursday evening.
The accident occurred around 7:00 PM when a Toyota Hiace minibus, travelling from Cape Coast to Takoradi, swerved to avoid an oncoming car that was overtaking dangerously.
The minibus subsequently collided with a broken-down truck parked along the roadside.

Firefighters from the Komenda Station worked quickly to free a trapped passenger from the wreckage, but the victim later succumbed to their injuries.

A second person was also confirmed dead at the scene. Of the ten people aboard the Hiace, eight were injured, three of them seriously, and have been rushed to Elmina Polyclinic.

Authorities are currently searching for the unidentified vehicle that caused the chain reaction.

Motorists are being reminded to exercise patience and adhere strictly to road safety regulations to avoid similar incidents.
