Two Arrested in Connection with Disappearance of Couple

The Ghana Police Service has taken two suspects into custody following the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Jesse Amuah and Mrs. Elizabeth Esi Amuah, who have been missing for over a month.

The couple was last seen on March 23, 2026. However, police were not formally notified of their disappearance until April 22, creating a critical one-month gap in the timeline.

A specialized task force, comprising the Missing Persons Unit, Anti-Armed Robbery Unit, and Crime Scene Management Team, was deployed immediately following the report. Investigators noted several concerning details at the couple’s residence:

  • The house was found securely locked.
  • The couple’s vehicle, a Nissan Sunny (Registration: GX 159-X), is missing from the property.
  • All electronic communication with the couple has remained severed since late March.

While the identities of the two suspects are being withheld to protect the integrity of the ongoing probe, police confirmed they are “assisting with inquiries.”

It remains unclear if the suspects are known to the couple or if a motive has been established.

“We are pursuing multiple leads to ensure the safe return of Dr. and Mrs. Amuah,” a police spokesperson stated. “We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the couple or their vehicle.”

The Ghana Police Service is appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the Amuahs or the missing Nissan Sunny (GX 159-X) to contact the nearest police station or call the emergency hotlines immediately.
