Ghanaian businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye (RNAQ) has publicly denied widespread allegations of infidelity, describing online claims about the collapse of his marriage as completely false.
In an interview on the Delay Show with Deloris Frimpong Manso, Quaye stated firmly: “My wife never caught me sleeping with another woman. For the 10 years that I was married, every single day I slept at home.”
He added, “The only days I didn’t sleep at home were when I travelled to other countries for work. But if I’m in Ghana, I slept at home. My wife never caught me cheating, and I don’t have any children out of wedlock.”
Responding to viral social media rumours linking him to multiple women, Quaye dismissed them outright.
“Those are untrue,” he said. “My wife has many male friends, and I also have many male and female friends.”
According to Quaye, the real reason for the marriage breakdown was not infidelity but his growing wealth.
“I am really of the opinion that I lost my marriage because of my success. I was a victim of my own success,” he said, visibly emotional.
“As I was growing up, I was becoming extremely wealthy, and people around me began changing how they looked at me. People I trusted so much, I couldn’t even rely on them anymore.”
He also pointed to the influence of someone close to him, describing a friend he once considered a brother.
“I think that he played a serious role in everything,” Quaye said, though he declined to give details, adding, “It will be very disrespectful on my part… my ex-wife is the mother of my children.”
Despite the separation, Quaye spoke respectfully about his former partner.
“She’s a very good woman, and she’s one of the finest wives I could ever have. I still have maximum respect for her.”
He took full responsibility for the marriage ending.
“I don’t blame Joana. It’s not her fault, it’s my fault. I believe in self-accountability. Anything that happens to me badly, it’s my fault, because there’s always something I could have done differently.”
Quaye suggested external forces played a role, saying, “Scavengers and predators surrounded me. When they couldn’t get to me, they used the weaker vessel at home. I think they got the best of my wife.”
He noted that efforts to save the marriage failed despite involving family members.
“I had to bring families in to try and resolve the matter. They did all they could, but it didn’t work. I don’t want to go into details; this is not the forum.”
On the cheating allegations, Quaye argued they often surface during legal disputes.
“Whatever the case, she will find something to say. If you hire a lawyer, they will always find a case to make for you.”
He insisted the public narrative does not reflect his reality, reiterating that infidelity was not the cause of the marriage collapse.
