The reign of terror in Akatsi and its surrounding areas has been dealt a massive blow.
Under the direct oversight of the IGP’s Special Operations Assistant, police launched a targeted sting operation that netted three suspects and a “mini-arsenal” of illegal firearms.
Among those in custody is Cephas Aniwaa, a local blacksmith believed to be the “armorer” for the group.
Along with suspects Enoch Adoglo and David Adzinu, Aniwaa was found with a staggering collection of 13 firearms and over 80 rounds of varying ammunition types, including AK-47 and $7.62 \times 51$ rounds.
While the police celebrate this victory, the search continues for the syndicate’s alleged mastermind, Mensah Kedzi, and his cohorts Ageh and Akakpo.
The police are urging anyone with information on their whereabouts to come forward as they continue their mission to restore total security to the region.
