The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has officially announced the closure of its application portal for the 2025/2026 academic year.
All prospective applicants are required to submit their applications by Wednesday, July 15, 2026, as the portal will shut down at the end of that day.
In a statement, the SLTF urged students currently in the middle of their applications to finalise their submissions immediately to avoid last-minute technical glitches.
The early closure is a strategic move to ensure the timely disbursement of funds for the current academic year and to facilitate a seamless transition to the 2026/2027 academic cycle.
Providing a mid-year performance update, SLTF Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Saajida Shiraz, highlighted the Fund’s significant impact on tertiary education financing.
To date, the SLTF has disbursed GH¢170.49 million to 47,988 beneficiaries under the Regular Students Loan scheme.
Additionally, GH¢17.2 million has been released under the Student Loan Plus initiative, covering full fees for 1,426 students, including 610 law students, with payments made directly to their institutions.
“These figures reaffirm our unwavering commitment to expanding access to higher education across Ghana,” Dr. Shiraz stated.
“We encourage all eligible students to act now to ensure they don’t miss this opportunity.”
The Fund assured applicants that it is working diligently to process remaining applications and urged students to complete their submissions early to prevent system congestion on the final day.
