The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has arrested a gang, which is believed to be responsible for a series of terrifying holdups, including a brutal attack on a VIP bus that left two female passengers with gunshot wounds.
Parading the suspects on Thursday, the Regional Commander, ACP Felix Apedo, revealed that the arrests were the result of a two-month intelligence operation carried out on March 12 and 14.
The list of suspects includes Seidu Fuseini, an ex-convict, and Dramani Rasak, a 22-year-old already on bail for allegedly murdering a police civilian employee last year.
Also in custody is Ibhrahim Issiaka, whom police identified as an escapee from the Jaima Police Station.
When police swooped on their hideouts in Offinso, Nkenkaasu, and Techiman, they uncovered a frightening cache of weapons.

On display were three locally made shotguns, a pistol, live ammunition, swords, and an arsenal of machetes. But the most chilling evidence was the collection of 41 mobile phones and a black hoodie stained with blood, souvenirs from their victims.
ACP Apedo detailed the gang’s reign of terror.
He noted that on February 23, they pounced on motorists at Nsuta-Hwidiem, carting away GHC 57,000.
One suspect, Zakaria Fuseini, reportedly refused to take part in the actual attack because he was fasting for Ramadan, but had no issue later collecting GHC 500 from the loot.
Their most brazen act came on February 2, when they stormed a VIP bus packed with 49 passengers along the Nkenkaasu-Darso road, firing wildly and injuring two women.
The gang also confessed to strikes in Wenchi, Buipe, and Obuasi, where one of their own was killed in a shootout with police.
Police have launched a manhunt for two other gang members on the run.
“We are coming for them,” ACP Apedo warned, urging the public to help flush out the remaining criminals.
