The Shai Osudoku District Chief Executive (DCE), Ignatius Godfred Dordoe, has handed over three newly procured pick-up vehicles to the District Assembly to enhance field operations and accelerate service delivery.
The brief but significant ceremony took place on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the forecourt of the Assembly, with department heads and staff in attendance.
The DCE officially presented the vehicles to the District Coordinating Director, who will transfer them to the transport department.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Dordoe explained that the vehicles are yet to be assigned to specific departments as insurance processes are still ongoing.
He assured that once insurance is finalised, the pick-ups would be deployed to support critical areas such as revenue mobilisation, sanitation monitoring, project inspection, and emergency response.
“I procured these pick-ups to improve our work on the ground. They are currently being insured, and immediately after that process, we will hand them over to the departments that need them most,” the DCE stated.
He issued a strong caution that the vehicles are strictly for official duties and warned against any misuse for private errands.
Mr. Dordoe further urged heads of departments to ensure proper maintenance and full compliance with the Assembly’s transport policy once the vehicles are deployed.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Assembly, the District Coordinating Director expressed gratitude to the DCE and noted that the pick-ups would go a long way to resolve existing mobility challenges within the district.
The DCE reaffirmed his commitment to adequately resourcing the Assembly to improve operational efficiency and bring governance closer to the people.
Full deployment of the vehicles awaits the completion of insurance formalities.
