There has been another accident on the Accra–Kumasi Highway. This time, a four-vehicle smash-up on the Ofankor–Pokuase stretch has left one person seriously injured.
It happened this morning, involving a VIP bus, a military vehicle, a Vitz, and a 4×4. No one died, but the injured person is receiving treatment.
Traffic on the Kumasi-bound side has been heavily backed up, with drivers stuck in long delays.
This comes just days after 11 people lost their lives in a crash on the same road near the John Teye area. The Ga North MCE, Akwetey Agbo, is blaming driver indiscipline.
He is demanding speed cameras to catch offenders, saying drivers must slow down, especially when descending from John Teye towards Pokuase.
He insists that with better education and stricter laws, these crashes can be prevented.
