22-Year-Old Robber Gets 10 Years for Kumasi Highway Attack

A 22-year-old man, Christian Owusu, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour for robbery in Kumasi.

The Atasemanso Circuit Court convicted Owusu on his own plea after he admitted to robbing a woman of her handbag on July 21, 2026, at Konkromase Township.

The victim reported the incident at about 12:21 p.m. that day.

Owusu was arrested on August 4 and put before the court on August 7.

He pleaded for forgiveness but was handed a minimum 10-year sentence.

He has been remanded to the Kumasi Central Prisons to begin his sentence, the Ashanti Regional Police Command confirmed.
