Ghana has lost a true son of the media. Seth Kwame Dzokoto, affectionately known simply as Kwame Dzokoto, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, after collapsing at Owass Radio in Tarkwa. He was 51.
To many, he was the stern but hilarious Judge Koboo from Efiewura, a character that made him a staple in living rooms across the nation. To food lovers, he was the warm, engaging host of Edziban on TV3, who took viewers on a delicious journey through Ghana’s culinary heritage.
But Kwame Dzokoto was more than just a screen presence. He was a dynamic broadcaster who honed his craft at Skyy Power FM and Hello FM, and a gifted voice-over artist whose voice became synonymous with some of the country’s most memorable advertisements.
His ability to transition seamlessly between comedy, acting, and broadcasting made him a rare talent in the Ghanaian media landscape.
His passing is particularly poignant, coming just weeks after photos of him looking frail went viral, prompting an outpouring of prayers from fans.
Beyond the glitz of showbiz, Dzokoto was a man of the people with a deep passion for public service. Running on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in 2016. Though he did not win, his campaign highlighted his desire to contribute to national development beyond the entertainment arena.
As tributes pour in from the NDC and the creative arts industry, Ghana remembers a man who wore many hats—and wore them all with a signature smile. Kwame Dzokoto is survived by a legacy of laughter, culture, and versatility. He will be deeply missed.
