Police have arrested a suspected romance fraudster accused of using religion to trap his victims.
The suspect, Nana Yaw Bonsu Kwarteng, is facing multiple charges, including defrauding by false pretences and the non-consensual sharing of intimate images.
According to police investigations, Kwarteng posed as a pastor on Instagram, telling women that God had revealed they were his future wives.
He allegedly went as far as meeting their families and giving them promise rings to gain trust.
However, authorities say he used intimate images obtained from some victims to blackmail them for money.
He also allegedly lured victims into a fake car tyre import business, collecting thousands of dollars before vanishing.
In a disturbing twist, police say Kwarteng shared those intimate images with his wife, Sally Akosua Amoasah, who is also accused of threatening the victims.
Seven women have reported cases dating back to 2021.
The suspect has been remanded into police custody, while his wife has been granted bail.
They are due back in court on August 6th.
Police are encouraging any other victims to come forward.
