Four Ghanaians, Isaac Techie-Menson (57), Comfort Ofosu (25), Catherine Quaye (43), all travel agents, and Kwaku Blorme (38), a tiler, have been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly concealing 4.6kg of marijuana in a parcel given to traveller David Vouganye for delivery in Doha, Qatar.
Vouganye was arrested at Doha’s airport on October 14, 2025, after authorities found the drugs hidden among food and personal care items.
He was subsequently prosecuted and is now serving a 25-year prison sentence in Qatar.
The case came to light when Vouganye’s father, Kwasi Dari, reported the matter to the CID on October 30, 2025. Dari later spotted Techie-Menson and Ofosu at Kotoka International Airport, leading to their arrest.
They implicated Quaye, who in turn named Blorme as the original source of the parcel.
All four pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawful control of narcotic drugs and engaging in prohibited drug business.
They were each granted GH¢100,000 bail with three sureties, one of whom must justify with landed property, and ordered to report to investigators every fortnight.
The case continues on August 3, 2026. Investigations are ongoing, with Interpol assisting to obtain full case details from Qatar.
