Detective Lance Corporal Confidence Tetteh, an officer of the Cybercrime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been honoured as the Overall Best Level 400 Student in her field at the University of Cape Coast’s College of Distance Education.
The decorated officer, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Behaviour and Conflict Management, achieved an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.8229 for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Her outstanding performance earned her the maiden Provost’s Award, a first in the history of the programme.
D/L/Cpl Tetteh’s achievement is particularly notable given her demanding role in combating cybercrime, one of Ghana’s most pressing security challenges.
Her ability to balance frontline investigative duties with academic excellence has drawn praise from senior police officials and academic staff alike.
The Ghana Police Service, in a statement, described Detective Tetteh as a shining example of the modern Ghanaian police officer, disciplined, sharp, and committed to continuous professional development.
“Detective Lance Corporal Confidence Tetteh has demonstrated that service to the nation and academic brilliance can go hand in hand. Her dedication to duty and pursuit of knowledge is commendable and serves as an inspiration to her colleagues and the youth,” the statement read.
The Provost’s Award, presented for the first time in the 2025/2026 academic year, recognizes exceptional academic performance among distance education students at the University of Cape Coast. Detective Tetteh’s CGPA of 3.8229 places her at the pinnacle of her cohort.
The Ghana Police Service extended its congratulations to Detective Tetteh and expressed pride in her accomplishments, noting that her success underscores the Service’s commitment to fostering a highly educated and skilled workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of modern law enforcement.
