At the 41st National Farmers Day ceremony held in Ho, 82-year-old Opanyin Abraham Kwaku Adusei from the Eastern Region was honoured as the 2025 Overall Best National Farmer.
President John Dramani Mahama presented the awards, praising all winners for their resilience and contribution to national development. Mr. Adusei, recognized for his decades of innovation and dedication, received a cash prize and pledged to collaborate with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to modernize the sector and support fellow farmers.
Other notable awardees included 48-year-old Osman Kadiri (Greater Accra) as first runner-up, 63-year-old Charles Gyato (Oti Region) as second runner-up, and Madam Grace Owusuaah, who was named the 2025 National Best Female Farmer. All received cash prizes for their outstanding contributions.
The ceremony highlighted the central role of farmers and fishers in ensuring Ghana’s food security and economic growth.
