The recent ShattaFest concert has cemented its status as a landmark event in Ghana’s entertainment history, with official figures revealing an unprecedented public turnout that significantly surpassed all expectations.
In an interview on Hitz FM, former manager of Shatta Wale, Sammy Flex, said the initial planning projected an audience of approximately 100,000 attendees—a figure formally submitted to the Police, Ambulance, and Fire Services for operational clearance.
The actual event, however, drew a staggering crowd exceeding 300,000 fans, filling the Independence Square to capacity and spilling into surrounding areas.
“The public response was overwhelmingly beyond our projections,” Sammy Flex stated. “Attendees filled the entire square and stands, with drone footage showing the crowd extending from the venue towards Osu and Tema Station. The scale was truly monumental.”
Flex described the atmosphere as electric, with the team proactively managing logistical challenges. To ensure audience safety and comfort amidst the intense crowd and heat, the event’s security and medical personnel were fully mobilized.
“We coordinated with the Fire Service to provide water relief for the fans and had multiple ambulances on standby to address any emergencies swiftly,” he explained.
He attributed the event’s seamless execution to the dedicated efforts of the entire team, which planned and executed the large-scale concert in just 13 days.
“To see this level of success is a testament to the team’s hard work and the powerful connection between Shatta Wale and his fans. It was more than a concert; it was a national celebration,” Flex added.
The event has been met with a wave of positive feedback, leaving the artist and his team deeply gratified by its success and cultural impact.
