Parliament To Reconvene Tomorrow, October 21

The Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:00pm in the Parliament House, Accra.

Speaker of Parliament, the Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, issued the official notice on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, invoking Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament to formally communicate the revised date to all Members of Parliament and the public.

In the statement, Speaker Bagbin declared: “Pursuant to the notice to defer the commencement of the Third Meeting… dated 6th October 2025, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, pursuant to Order 58, give notice that the Third Meeting… shall now commence on Tuesday, 21st day of October 2025, at 1400 hours at Parliament House, Accra.”

This resumption marks the Third and final Meeting of the current parliamentary calendar year. The session is anticipated to be particularly significant, as it is expected to address key national issues, deliberate on crucial legislation, and consider financial matters in preparation for the 2026 budget.

The upcoming session follows a prior announcement on Monday, October 6, 2025, which postponed the original start date of Tuesday, October 14.

As Parliament reconvenes, stakeholders and citizens are keenly awaiting the tabling of bills and financial measures that will shape the nation’s economic trajectory.
