One Feared Dead, Scores Injured In Konongo Fire Explosion

One feared dead while others are injured in a tragic explosion incident that has occurred at Odumasi Konongo, in the Asante Akyem Central municipality of the Ashanti Region. Reports indicates that the fire gutted some shops dealing in mining explosives on Wednesday evening, however, the exact cause of the explosion remains unknown. The injured persons reportedly includes at least two firefighters with the Ghana National Fire Service, who reported to the scene before the explosion. Meanwhile other report indicates that some residents attacked personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, pelting them with stones and causing them to flee from the scene. However, victims have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
