Nana Konadu Was A True Icon – Vice President Mourns Former First Lady’s Legacy

Following the death of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has paid tribute to her life and legacy.

“She was a true icon and will be remembered for her service to Ghana,” she wrote.

The former First Lady, a champion of women’s empowerment and founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement, died on October 23, 2025, after a brief illness.

Remembering her as a “true icon,” the Vice President expressed her sorrow and gratitude for Nana Konadu’s remarkable contributions to Ghana.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang extended her deepest condolences to the Rawlings family, wishing them strength and peace.

“My deepest condolences go to her children and family. I wish her peaceful rest.”
