Tottenham Hotspur’s newest signing, Mohammed Kudus, has declared himself a “team player” and aims to drive success in both the Premier League and the Champions League. The 24-year-old forward completed his move to North London, putting pen to paper on a six-year deal.

Spurs secured Kudus in a club-record £55 million transfer from West Ham, making him the most expensive Ghanaian footballer in history.

“I’m a very team-oriented player, so my main focus is helping the team earn as many points as possible and climb as high as we can,” Kudus told the club’s media. “I want to contribute to Spurs performing strongly in the Premier League and making a deep run in the Champions League.”

In August 2023, he signed with West Ham United, making his Premier League debut the following month as a substitute before marking his full debut with a brace in the UEFA Europa League.

His standout performances in his debut English football season earned him a nomination for the Premier League’s Player of the Month in December. By the end of the campaign, he had registered 14 goals and nine assists, along with winning West Ham’s Goal of the Season award for a stunning solo strike against SC Freiburg in the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League—a goal that also secured a nomination for the 2024 FIFA Puskas Award.

Recognized as Ghana Footballer of the Year for two consecutive years, the forward made 80 appearances across all competitions during his two-year stint at London Stadium, netting 19 goals.

After representing Ghana at the U-20 level, he earned his first senior cap in November 2019, scoring on his debut in a 2-0 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying victory over South Africa. To date, he has collected 42 caps and 12 goals for his country.

Mohammed was part of Ghana’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, scoring twice in the group stage, and also featured at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
