With a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Comoros, the Ghana Black Stars, under the leadership of Head Coach Otto Addo, have officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This achievement etches Addo’s name in the annals of Ghanaian football history as the first coach to secure back-to-back World Cup qualifications, having also led the team’s return to the global stage in 2022.
This will mark Ghana’s fifth appearance at the tournament, a record among African nations that is only surpassed by Cameroon, Morocco, Tunisia, and Nigeria. Attention now turns to preparations for the 2026 finals, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
