“I’m really shocked at the sudden departure of my brother, friend and comrade Ambassador Sam Pee Yarley Esq to glory. On the 29th of March this year, he sent me a message to inform me of his admission at the Korle bu Hospital for an operation. He requested for my prayers and support. My response was swift, as it was a surprise to me. I followed up, same day with a request for further and better particulars of his location and health. The response to my second message was assuring. “Rt. Hon operation has been successfully completed…”
Another message to inform him of my departure from the jurisdiction, received a safe flight message via the son. I then spoke to the son who conveyed the father’s gratitude to me.
The last words of my friend and brother were on Thursday, 3rd April 2025, “Rt. Hon Good Morning, you really showed me that you are a true brother and friend. God richly bless you.”
I was reassured by this message of his health status and I prayed further for his speedy recovery. Only to be awoken from a dream, a nightmare, of his departure on the 6th April 2025. I am devastated, drenched in tears and wrapped up in sorrow. But who am I to ask God why?
I can only thank God for giving us such a man of faith, courage, sincerity, intellect, and love. I can only celebrate his life, full of smiles, aura and achievements. Comrade, I love you. But I know, God loves you more than me. You are a blessing to your family, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ghana and humanity as a whole.
My heart goes out to the wife, children and family. Be not in pain and anguish. God gave him to us and He has taken him back to His Heavenly Kingdom, our Home .
Our son, husband, father, brother and comrade has accomplished what he was sent by God to do on earth.
We thank God for his life. We adore Him and we bless His Holy name. God we thank you.
Comrade, nante yie, breu, breu, breu.”
