In a benevolent gesture marking the GPCC National Week Celebration, the Women’s Wing of the Kaneshie Zone, Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), presented a donation to the Weija Leprosarium on Friday, October 10, 2025.
The donation included a cash sum of Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢2,000.00) alongside essential hospital supplies and food items, aimed at supporting the well-being of the residents.
During the presentation, the President of the Women’s Wing, Deaconess Rose Obeng Annoh, emphasized the importance of the initiative.
“This gesture is a step in the right direction, reflecting our core Christian values of compassion and service,” she stated. She further encouraged the residents to maintain their faith and hope in God.
Deaconess Obeng Annoh also issued a call to action, urging other organizations and individuals to extend their support.
“The act of showing love should not be confined to our churches. I encourage our mothers, corporate bodies, and other organizations to share love with our brothers and sisters here, perhaps during birthdays or other celebrations, to bring joy into their lives. Any support, no matter the size, will be deeply appreciated.”
The Prefect of the Leprosarium, Mr. John Ampao, who received the items on behalf of the management, expressed profound gratitude.
After providing a brief history of the facility, he offered heartfelt prayers for the GPCC community.
“We are truly thankful for this love. We believe that even as we use this donation for our needs, it will bring us blessing, for it comes from the church. As you depart, may God accompany you. May your churches be preserved from loss and may new doors of opportunity open for you.”
The event also featured a moment of spiritual support, as the Assistant Secretary for the Zone, Pastor Sam Jonah, shared a word of prayer with the residents, offering blessings and encouragement.
The Administrator of the Weija Leprosarium, Ms. Esther Geh, also conveyed her appreciation to the GPCC delegation for their kindness.
Following the formal presentation, Mr. Ampao guided the team on a tour of his on-site art gallery, showcasing a collection of his own handcrafted artworks available for sale.
Providing context for the visit, Assistant Pastor Eric Opoku Agyekum of the Bubiashie Foursquare Gospel Church explained that the GPCC is an umbrella body comprising prominent churches such as The Church of Pentecost, the Foursquare Gospel Church in Ghana, Christ Apostolic Church, Deeper Life Church, and The Apostolic Church of Ghana, Global Evangelical Church, Divine Healers Church, Love Community Chapel, Royal House Chapel, Joyful Presences, Conquerors Chapel, among others.
