The Adentan Circuit Court has ordered controversial content creator Evans Eshun, widely known as Ebo Noah, to be held in police custody for two weeks.
The self-proclaimed prophet faces charges of false publication of news and deliberately misleading the public, offences under Ghana’s criminal code.
The ruling follows escalating public alarm over his online prophecies and their potential to cause widespread panic.

In a significant development, the presiding judge also mandated that Eshun undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital.
This assessment aims to determine his mental fitness to stand trial as police continue their investigation.
The case has been adjourned to January 16, 2025. The court expects the psychiatric report to be submitted before the next hearing.
Eshun, 33, was arrested mid-broadcast during a live stream in the Weija-Gbawe area. His detention is part of a broader crackdown by authorities on online disinformation.

He rose to notoriety after publishing videos predicting a catastrophic global flood beginning December 25, 2025, a prediction he later claimed was postponed by divine instruction.

The case has sparked a polarized public debate, with some hailing his arrest as necessary against charlatanism, while others raise concerns about the boundaries of free speech and religious expression.
The ark, built by self-acclaimed prophet Ebo Noah following claims of an impending global flood, was set ablaze by angry youths after the prophecy was later withdrawn.
