The General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Ghana, Rev. Dr. Francis Sey says election is not a do-or-die affair, hence, the need for Ghanaians to desist from any form of violence in the forthcoming elections on December 7.

He encouraged Ghanaians to put the love and peace of the country first, saying there will always be another opportunity for every political party.

“This will not be our last elections, if you win, thank God but if you lose, know that you will have another opportunity. It’s not a do-or-die affairs, it’s not a matter of life and death.

“Let’s put Ghana first and let us ensure that we have a free, fair and peaceful election that all of us will be proud of.”

Encouraging every Ghanaian to partake in the upcoming elections, Rev. Sey said exercising your franchise is not only a civic responsibility but a spiritual one, therefore, “pray and make a choice.”

“I encourage every Ghanaian to go and vote; it’s a civic responsibility, it’s a spiritual responsibility that every individual will exercise our franchise and give power to the people we chose.”

Rev. Dr. Francis Sey spoke at the 50th-anniversary celebration of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Ghana, where he was inducted following a re-election to lead the church for the next five years.

Speaking to CN News Online, the General Overseer said the church should expect a leader who is ready to serve, one who will look up to God for guidance and direction and a leader who will trust God for courage to lead the way for God’s glory.

He noted that the church, in the past 50 years, has been a significant denomination in the country, playing a vital role in the economical body of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), raising leaders, impacting lives and playing significant roles in our society.

“The church has been in the forefront of the charismatic renewal in Ghana from 1974 birthing many churches,” he noted.
